Sustainable Gardening with the Jr Tillers
Jr Tillers is a family agriculture incubator. As an incubator Jr TIllers will introduce families to traditional farming methods that will build confidence through hands-on learning experiences. Early American farmers wasted nothing, and used sustainable principles for food production. Lifestyle models used by early homesteaders created a critical path based on natural, organic stewardship of the land and the cycle of life. The Jr Tillers incubator program allows family units to participate for a minimum of one growing season and a maximum of two growing seasons in a family food production. The Jr Tillers program includes, but is not limited to, natural, organic gardening. Also included are animal husbandry, food processing, meal planning along with by-product recycling and management.
